In Brief

According to the theory of aerodynamics, as may be demonstrated through wind tunnel experiments, the bumblebee is unable to fly. This is because the size and shape of its body in relation to wingspread make flying impossible. But the bumblebee, being ignorant of these scientific truths, goes ahead and flies anyway; and makes a little honey … (*)

Born Melbourne October ’51 and raised in the country as part of a farming family. I have lived over half my life in the city now, yet consider myself a country person at heart still.

Educated for my primary years at Lancefield state school and my secondary years at Sale High and Gippsland Grammar. My attitude to schooling allowed me to make it through to year 12.

Spent a couple of years enjoying a hippie lifestyle, then arranged apprenticship as an electrical mechanic.

Also, at around this time, I began a meaningful ¬†practice of Self Knowledge that continues to this day. That’s now a 40 year practice of meditation, and activities, focussed towards valuing my humanity — my heart and mindfulness —- and still going strong!!!

Straight out of apprenticeship I became a Registered Electrical Contractor and since then have been self – employed as such.

Consecutively, in partnership with two women of wisdom and depth, I have participated in family life and parented four children. Those children now live their own independent, energetic and committed lives.

I survived a cancer diagnosis (and treatment!) some 9 years ago, and am now enjoying and enacting the changed life perspective that came from that experience.

I continue live and learn – and look forward to enriching this biography/story.

(*) obviously – the bumblebee flies and conforms to nature’s laws – which science is still learning to describe and understand.
